Taylor Foundation, created in the spring of 2005, is a private foundation supported exclusively by the Taylor Family's and Taylor Companies' endowments. Taylor Foundation is an organization in its infancy, but the philanthropic history of the Taylor family has deep roots. Ralph Taylor is the Chairman of Taylor Companies and for decades the corporate mission statement has included a dedication to supporting those organizations that enrich humanity.
Ralph C. Taylor II and Nancy H. Taylor decided to start a foundation in their family name after years of philanthropic support to a variety of charitable organizations. As they have been blessed with success, happiness, and health, the Taylor family strives to give back to society in a variety of ways.
Children of Mine:
The Children of Mine Center's mission is to provide a safe and nurturing after-school environment for at-risk children in Southeast Washington, D.C. Thanks to Children of Mine, these children can develop consistent, respectful, and appropriate relationships with each other and caring adults, and receive a variety of educational, health, and social services. Taylor Foundation has adopted this after-school center as a primary volunteer location for its corporate associates and plans to assist the center in expanding the facilities in the future. National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA):
The NFAA was founded in 1981 as a nonprofit arts organization. Its mission is to identify emerging artists and assist them at critical junctures in their educational and professional developments, while concurrently raising appreciation and support for the arts in American society. Taylor Foundation has sponsored the annual visual arts exhibition for the NFAA winners since 1994 and has been underwriting the Mid-Atlantic Office since 2004.
National Student Partnership (NSP):
National Student Partnership is the nation's only year-round, college student-led volunteer service organization that links people in need with the resources and opportunities necessary to become self-sufficient. Taylor Foundation has recently established a partnership with NSP and its involvement includes National Board Membership. Sibley Memorial Hospital:
Sibley Hospital, located in Washington, D.C. is proud to be an integral part of the local community. For over 110 years, the staff and management at Sibley have set their sights on providing compassionate and technologically advanced medical care. Taylor Foundation made a donation in honor of a special surgeon, Dr. Martin Paul, which will go toward building an advanced laparoscopic and arthroscopic operating room, including state-of-the-art high definition video cameras with options for transmitting images to and from physician offices. ![]() ![]() Rachel Taylor Lane Chair and Executive Director 1128 Sixteenth Street, Northwest Washington, DC 20036 Tel: (202) 955-1330 Fax: (202) 293-1862 |
